Two words that hold so much meaning of who I am.
Who we all are.
Because I work in the business field, it’s been said that tattoos are unprofessional and need to be covered before coming into work each day. Although times are changing, I wouldn’t want to jeopardize a career that may not have conformed to today’s society yet. Therefore, these two words sit on my right hip, covered by my shirt, yet a reminder everyday of who I am.
God has made us beautifully in His image, and He never makes mistakes. We, on the other hand, do make mistakes. We’re human. The words Beautifully Broken are a daily reminder that no matter how prideful we may feel, we are still broken and need God to lean on in all situations in life. Yes, today may be a great day – but don’t forget to Thank the one who gave you that great day.
But also, a reminder that when we feel broken and like we can’t do anything right, we are a beautiful creation that God loves unconditionally, no matter what the devil may be whispering in our ear. God has a plan for our lives, and every moment or decision is leading you to where He wants you to be and into the person He wants you to become.
‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.’
Tips for those who plan to get a tattoo in the future:
Make sure the tattoo artist asks for your license and makes a copy of it. You should also be asked to sign a waiver. If this doesn’t happen when you first walk in, then walk out. The tattoo parlor needs to be certified to imprint your body permanently, and things could definitely go wrong. Therefore, you need to make sure you’re being as safe as possible.
If you’re a female and you want the tattoo on your hip, the further to the side, the better. If you ever get pregnant, your stomach will stretch, and so will the tattoo if it’s near your stomach.
Most importantly, make sure you’ve taken time to think about what tattoo you want. This isn’t a temporary thing, and you’re stuck with it forever. Make smart decisions little ones.
